The Gospel of John Chapter 14 has to do with what Jesus told the Apostles during the Last Supper, they are subtitled Last Supper Discourses in my Bible.

Jesus tells us three distinct times that we are to pray in His Name.

THE FIRST TIME
John 14: 12-14 Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in Me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father. And whatever you ask in My Name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of Me in My Name, I will do it.
John 14:25-26 “I have told you this while I am still with you. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit that the Father will send in My Name- He will teach you everything and remind you of all that [I] told you.
THE SECOND TIME                                                                                                                         John 15: 16-17 “It was not you who chose Me, but I Who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name He may give you. This I command you: love one another.

John 15: 20-21 “Remember the Word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My Word, they will also keep yours. And they will do all these things to you on account of My Name, because they do not know the One Who sent Me.
THE THIRD TIME                                                                                                                            John 16: 22-24 “So you also are now in anguish. But I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you. On that day you will not question Me about anything. Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My Name He will give you. Until now you have not asked anything in My Name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.

John 16: 26-27 “On that day you will ask in My Name, and I do not tell you that I will ask the Father for you. For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have come to believe that I came from God.
